History

The 7th International Conference on Magnetic Fluids (7th ICMF) was organized between 7th to 14th January 1995 at Bhavnagar University (since renamed as Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University) Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India. Renowned academicians and researchers from around the world attended this conference. It was an appropriate platform for Indian scientists to interact, introspect and plan for concerted efforts in Magnetic Fluid research within the country. As an outcome of this brainstorming the “Indian Society for Magnetic Fluid Research “ (ISMFR) was established at the Department of Physics, Bhavnagar University. The Society was registered at Bhavnagar under Registration No. GUJ/788/Bhavnagar 29/5/97.

Since its inception, the society has, directly or indirectly, tried to promote various activities related to Magnetic Fluid research among Indian researchers.
